چکیده
Abstract. A flexible treatment for gas- and aerosol-phase chemical processes has been developed models of diverse scale, from box up to global models. At the core this novel framework is an “abstracted aerosol representation” that allows a given mechanism be solved in atmospheric with different representations (e.g., sectional, modal, or particle-resolved). This accomplished by treating aerosols as collection condensed phases are implemented according representation host model. The also multiple reactions, emissions, deposition, photolysis, mass transfer) simultaneously single system. flexibility model achieved (1) using object-oriented design facilitates extensibility new types ways representing systems, (2) runtime configuration JSON input files permits making changes any part without recompiling (this widely used, human-readable format entire mechanisms described much complexity necessary), (3) automated comprehensive testing ensures stability code functionality introduced. Together, these choices enable users build customized multiphase having handle preprocessors, solvers, compilers. Removing hurdles makes type modeling accessible wider community, including modelers, experimentalists, educators. compiles stand-alone library deployed particle-resolved PartMC Multiscale Online AtmospheRe CHemistry (MONARCH) weather prediction system use at regional scales. Results initial deployment MONARCH will discussed, along future extension more complex gas–aerosol systems integration GPU-based solvers.

We present a comprehensive description and benchmark evaluation of the tropospheric chemistry version of the global chemistry transport model TM5 (Tracer Model 5, version TM5-chem-v3.0). A full description is given concerning the photochemical mechanism, the interaction with aerosol, the treatment of the stratosphere, the wet and dry deposition parameterizations, and the applied emissions. In this study we develop a Secondary Inorganic Aerosol (SIA) module for the chemistry transport model MOCAGE developed at CNRM. Based on the thermodynamic equilibrium module ISORROPIA II, the new version of the model is evaluated both at the global scale and at the regional scale. 5 The results show high concentrations of secondary inorganic aerosols in the most polluted regions being Europe, A...
متن کاملAn Artificial Chemistry-based Model of Economies
Economies can be modelled using Artificial Chemistry approaches. In this contribution we discuss the development of such a model starting from the well-known von Neumann’s technology matrices. Skills and technologies that allow the transformation of raw materials into products are introduced in a form akin to chemical reactions. The dynamic flow of materials in such a system is simulated and co...
